History

In 648 BC., martial arts known as “Pankration” was Olympic. The fighters were allowed to hit, kick and use all parts of their body in this type of competition. In addition, it was allowed to wrestle to shift parts of the fight to the ground.
This mix of rules, both impact and ground fighting techniques, such as Grappling, allowed competitors with different backgrounds to meet. This gave rise to a mixture of traditional and non-traditional competition techniques, which together enable a wide range of fighting techniques.
