Training procedure

In addition to elbow and knee techniques, classic clinching is also a striking feature of Thaiboxing. In this case, if possible, trying to bring the opponent or training partner in the stand out of balance. To achieve this there can be used kicks with the knee against the upper body or the thighs of the opponent or ellbow techniques. In Thaiboxing, care is taken to perform treading techniques with the tibia and not with the footstrap. In some cases, it is also allowed to catch and hold the opposing leg. In addition to well-known punching techniques from the field of classic boxing, the Thaiboxing also punches out of the rotation are allowed. In addition, some styles allow throws to bring the opponent to the ground.

History

Kickboxing as well as French boxing are similar to no other fight style more than the Thaiboxing. If knee and elbow techniques are left out in Thaiboxing, you are basically kickboxing. Martial arts, which requires strength, endurance and speed as well as agility, developed from techniques of karate (foot techniques or kicks) and boxing (fist techniques). While kickboxing covers both hands and feet with protective gear, thaiboxing does not protect the feet with protectors. So kicks have a bigger meaning and are more effective. This kind of summary of different combat techniques and the resulting variety of physical requirements, as a dynamic and also competition-oriented possibility to keep the body fit and healthy, have been used before. Fitness and responsiveness are equally trained and are important in achieving the maximum effectiveness of the sport. This includes physical as well as character properties, such as courage, willpower, self-confidence, discipline and fairness. Through this combination of training focuses, the learned can be implemented not only in competitions, but it also creates an effective way of self-defense in everyday life.
